Walking the Way of the Cross for Caregivers

It all began in Medjugorje and with that first pilgrimage! Michelle and Stu would never have been able to accept, with such grace, the cross they would soon be carrying if it hadn’t been for that holy week. While praying the rosary, Stu, a protestant, was given divine revelation of the reality of God and the understanding that his mother was there. That insight ultimately led him into the church and gave him the faith and the peace for his journey ahead.

Using The Way of the Cross as a framework for their love story, Michelle shares her heartbreakingly beautiful eight-year caregiving journey with her husband Stu. Before being called Home, Stu suffered three bouts of cancer, amputation of his leg up to the hip, and became a quadriplegic. If you are currently standing at the foot of the Cross, this story shows that you do not need to be afraid. Because if you let Him – the One who loves you more than you love yourself – will accompany you, and at times will even carry you, as you begin your own journey, Walking the Way of the Cross.

A Millennial in Paradise: Carlo Acutis

In each generation, heroes of the Faith, whom the Church recognizes as saints, emerge. There are many characteristics that they have in common, but none thus far have used cell phones, played PlayStation video games, or searched for information on Google.

That is about to change.A young "computer geek" named Carlo Acutis, who created a website cataloguing every reported Eucharistic miracle in the world and died of leukemia a year later at age fifteen, was beatified in November 2019, after a healing miracle in Brazil was attributed to his intercession. In these pages, you'll discover how he embraced the Faith as a boy and developed the virtues necessary to live a Christ-centered life in a secular society, how he overcame the vices that plagued him, and how he gracefully dealt with heartaches he could not divulge even to his parents. When he developed leukemia, he offered his suffering both for Pope Benedict XVI and for the Catholic Church, saying: "I offer all the suffering I will have to undergo for the Lord, for the Pope, and the Church."

On many occasions throughout the histoY, God has provided visible proof of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. In her book, Eucharistic Miracles, Joan Carroll Cruz documents 36 such miracles. This book tells of consecrated Hosts, which have visibly turned to human flesh, have bled, levitated, and which have become hard as flint when received by a person in mortal sin. It details the official investigations that have been made into these miracles by scientists throughout the world, and where some can still be venerated today. Eucharistic Miracles also recounts miraculous Eucharistic phenomena in the lives of saints: saints who lived with only the Eucharist for sustenance, received Communication miraculously, or experienced raptures, ecstasies, levitations, visions, locutions, and more.

A Pathway - Under the Gaze of Mary

A Pathway - Under the Gaze of Mary
Biography of Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart
By Carmel of Saint Teresa

Get to know Sister Lucia intimately through the eyes of the Carmelite Sisters who shared in her daily life for 57 years at the Carmel in Coimbra, Portugal. The biography draws upon Sr. Lucia’s personal memories as narrated to the sisters; letters, writings and private notes never before published, allowing readers to experience her personal path of joys and sufferings as she spread the message of Fatima given by the Lady brighter than the sun.

As the Shepherdess of Fatima who, together with Francisco and Jacinta saw Our Lady in 1917, she is regarded as a child blessed and chosen to spread the message of peace and salvation of God throughout the world. As a Carmelite nun, she was known as a privileged person dedicated to God and in service to His Church, one in whom people placed enormous confidence because of her role as Our Lady’s confidant.

The contemporary history of the Church would hardly be complete without the inclusion of Sister Lucia’s role. The references to the Holy Father and to his sufferings since the apparitions, as well as the revelation of the third part of the Secret of Fatima and the dramatic events experienced by the Church in the late second and early third millennium do not allow us to ignore Sister Lucia.

Reading the biography, A Pathway Under the Gaze of Mary, gives us a broader perspective of Sister Lucia’s life, spirituality and personality, especially after the apparitions at Fatima ended. Written by the Sisters of Carmel of Coimbra, it reflects their personal knowledge of her daily life and writings, and provides testimonies that mirror the depth of her soul.—Most Rev. Virgilio Antunes, Bishop of Coimbra

Fatima for Today

Fatima for Today - The Urgent Marian Message of Hope
By Fr. Andrew Apostoli, C. F. R.

Though the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima took place over a hundred years ago, Our Lady's call to prayer and penance for the salvation of souls and peace in the world is as relevant now as when first delivered to three Portuguese peasant children in 1917.

At the peak of the First World War, Our Lady warned of another worldwide conflict, the rise and spread of Communism, and a terrible persecution of the Church unless people repented of their sins and returned to God. She also requested devotion to her Immaculate Heart and a special consecration of Russia.

Much of what Our Lady of Fatima said was revealed soon after her appearances, but the third and final "secret", which was not a message but a prophetic vision seen by the children, was not unveiled by the Vatican until 2000. Pope John Paul II, who read the third secret while recovering from the attempt upon his life in 1981, believed the vision signified the sufferings the Church had endured in the twentieth century.

Because of the prophetic nature of her messages, Our Lady of Fatima has been the subject of much controversy and speculation. In this book, Father Andrew Apostoli carefully analyzes the events that took place in Fatima and clears up lingering questions and doubts about their meaning. He also challenges the reader to hear anew the call of Our Lady to prayer and sacrifice, for the world is ever in need of generous hearts willing to make reparation for those in danger of losing their way to God.

The Pieta Prayer Book - Large Print Edition

Large Print Edition

Harry Faulhaber of southwest Michigan created the Pieta Prayer Book in the 1970s. He was looking for a spiritual gift to leave with people when making home visits on behalf of his parish. Together with his wife and a friend in San Damiano, Italy, they compiled the book of favorite prayers. I discovered this little book on my first pilgrimage to Medjugorje and it instantly became my favorite prayer book. I have always kept a copy close by bed and in my bag and I turn to it more frequently than any other prayer book. Wayne also loved this little prayer book and never traveled without it. -- Judith

Secrets from Heaven

Treasures of Faith in the Parables and Conversations of Jesus

By Fr. Sebastian Walshe

In Secrets from Heaven, Fr. Sebastian Walshe helps you break free from stale and familiar takes on the gospel, giving you new eyes to see and new ears to hear the inexhaustible depths of Christ's wisdom. The Parable of the Sower, the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, the woman caught in adultery, all these and more come alive in fresh ways, revealing significant details and nuances, scriptural/historical connections, and testaments to Christ's rhetorical and pedagogical genius that you've never noted before. You'll marvel at Jesus' skill as an evangelist; but more importantly, you'll be powerfully moved to faith and love just as those who heard him in person long ago. Nothing Jesus taught was truly secret, He revealed the Father for all the world to see. But that doesn't mean his revelation is simplistic. Read Secrets from Heaven and go deeper into the saving mysteries of his life and teaching.

“This is an EXCELLENT resource to dig deeper into the Gospels! I highly recommend this for every Catholic bookshelf. It is easy to read and understand, and full of insight!”

Maryam of Bethlehem

If you love the saints, you'll love to discover this one. Sr. Emmanuel writes, “Maryam has part of my life since living in Jerusalem all those years ago, and I never forgot her. I fell in love with her then and I know English-speaking readers will too. Maryam's story will draw you closer to Jesus and Mary, and give you hope for Heaven.”

When I was in Medjugorje several years ago, Sr. Emmanuel told me this was still her favorite book. - Judith
